Dude. I finally saw Eclipse and managed to get through it without throwing myself at Jacob every time he appeared on screen.
Thanks DeAnna for going with me even though you've already seen it. Of course I don't think you minded too much. And tell your husband to stop being jealous of "dracula and scary doggies". Oh, and tell him they are vampires and wolves. Idiot.
(Love you Josh)

Brothers
The story is about a wife who's husband, a Marine, goes missing overseas and is presumed dead. After this tragedy the husband's younger brother takes care of the wife and her daughter.
Later the Marine is found after been captured and tortured by Taliban fighters. He is sent home to his wife and daughter. The hardships he endured overseas has affected him greatly and he begins to suspect his younger brother has slept with his wife.
I really liked the movie, it was a little predictable but it kept my attention and I loved the drama between the two brothers. I love the ac

Beyond A Reasonable Doubt
This movie is pretty slow moving, but it does pick up towards the middle. It does have some great twists which I love but you have to be patient!
Synopsis from Rotten Tomatoes:
Synopsis: High profile lawyer, Mark Hunter (Michael Douglas) has an impeccable record putting criminals behind bars and is a shoo-in for governor in the upcoming election. But when ambitious rookie... High profile lawyer, Mark Hunter (Michael Douglas) has an impeccable record putting criminals behind bars and is a shoo-in for governor in the upcoming election. But when ambitious rookie journalist, C.J. (Jesse Metcalfe) begins investigating Hunter for tampering with evidence to secure his convictions, the district attorney’s perfect record is up for scrutiny. Commencing a risky game of cat and mouse with Hunter, C.J. frames himself as a murder suspect to catch the corrupt D.A. in the act.
Romantically involved with C.J. but unaware of his assignment, assistant D.A. Ella Crystal (Amber Tamblyn) becomes caught between her boss’s political ambitions and C.J.’s dangerous exposé. As mounting evidence stacks up against both men, Ella’s own life becomes threatened when she discovers incriminating proof that puts the fate of both Nichol’s innocence and Hunter’s reputation in her hands.
With intricate plot twists ratcheting the tension throughout the film, this gripping courtroom thriller is written and directed by acclaimed director, Peter Hyams (Running Scared, End of Days) and also stars Orlando Jones and Joel David Moore. --© 42 West and Autonomous Films

Up In The Air
I loved it. Probably because the guy doesn't get the girl in the end. Plus it makes you think about what you want out of life and how to get it.

Precious
I can't believe I almost didn't watch this movie. I thought it was going to be another one of those "teacher helps kid in rough neighborhood" type of things but boy was I wrong.
This movie was disturbing, powerful, painful, sad and inspiring all at the same time. If there were ever a movie that could affect you and reach right to your soul, this one is it.
Yes, it's sometimes hard to watch because what happens is just so unbelievable but it is worth it. Warning, the mother in the film doesn't shave her armpits or legs, very gross!
This is also a show that my mother would never ever watch. It's got the F word right and left but I believe it needs to be that way, it shows how harsh some characters are. And Mo'Nique's Best Supporting Actress Award is WELL deserved. She is incredible, especially in her last scene.
I think everyone needs to see this movie, well everyone that can handle it.
Warning: You will cry.

A Serious Man
Plot:
"A black comedy drama centered on Larry Gopnik, a Midwestern professor who watches his life unravel through multiple sudden incidents. Though seeking for meaning and answers he seems to stay stalled." Full synopsis
I liked this movie. It was dark, funny, and a little disturbing and I really liked it. Of course I always love dark depressing movies but this one was different. I loved the characters and how the ending left you knowing but not knowing what is going to happen.
It's definitely not a movie for everyone.
It's a thinker, not an entertainer. If you want to feel better about your life, this movie's for you!

Cold Souls
This movie has a very strange plot. It's about an actor who hires a company to extract his soul from his body because he believes it will help his acting skills. He is having trouble disconnecting his real life from the character that he is playing in a theatre performance.
I'm dead serious. The company extracts his soul and stores it for him so that he can have it put back in when he feels he needs it. After a while, he realizes that he needs his soul, (duh) but problems arise when he finds out it is missing and they may not be able to find it.
Little does he know that a Russian actress took his soul to use as her own in order to help better her acting skills.
So essentially the movie is about a man searching for his soul.
Literally.

Surrogates
You know, this is one of those movies that had a great idea but in the end, they could have done so much more with it. I do like the concept of where the movie was going but it just fizzled out for me. I was disappointed. I don't think it was a really bad show, but I expected more.

Ghost World
I saw this movie on the "Movies You Must See Before You Die" list. I forget what website.
It was made in 2001 and I did enjoy it. It's one of those movies with an underlying theme that you realize at the end of the show (Similar to The Graduate). It seems at first a bunch of meaningless scenes about two girls who graduated from high school and how they fight boredom while deciding what to do with their lives.
They are both very sarcastic with a dark sense of humor and enjoy playing jokes on innocent people. One person being an older man who they eventually become friends with and who changes the life for one of the girls.
It's one of those tortured teen movies where they wallow in their sad depressive state, but we can all relate to that right?
Just watch it.

Fame (2009)
I've never seen the original version of Fame so I can't make a comparison, but I can comment on my likes and dislikes of the new version.
Likes: Dancing, dancing, dancing, dancing.
Dislikes: Don't get me wrong, I love Kherington (Season 4 So You Think You Can Dance) but I don't think her talent was portrayed very will in this movie. The plot line was predictable, just like all other dance movies but hey, who is watches it for the plot?
Just watch it for the talent and you will enjoy it!

Hurt Locker
Hurt Locker is a war film, but it portrays the Iraq war in almost a documentary type of fashion. It is true to life, at least they say it is, and it's not your typical shoot'em up war movie.
It is more of a drama with a few riveting moments. It was more interesting to me than exciting. It shows what really goes on with our troops over seas.

My Sister's Keeper
The story is about a family who's daughter is diagnosed with cancer at an early age so the family decides to make a test tube baby who will be a perfect match for their sick child in order to use parts of her anatomy to save the sick child's life.
Yeah, I know.
How would it feel to just exist solely to be used for your "parts"? To know that you weren't really wanted in the first place. I like how the younger sister narrates the film and poses the question, "What if my sister never was sick? Would I even exist?"
It's definitely a film that makes you think. And, as you can imagine, it is a tear jerker!

Personal Effects
This show is about a guy (Ashton Kutcher) who's twin sister was murdered and how he is able to deal with the loss, the trial, and others involved. In a support group he meats a woman (Michelle Pfeiffer) who's husband was also murdered. They begin to spend time together and lean on each other for support.
I really liked this movie, especially because there were a few shocking moments. It may seem slow to some but I think it's slow on purpose to show that the characters are mourning their loved ones. The colors are muted with grayish, blueish tints which again set the mood perfectly.
So I recommend you see it, not necessarily to be entertained, but to be moved.

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past
I thought it was pretty stupid but I generally don't like chick flicks so I may be a little biased. The plot is similar to A Christmas Carol where Scrooge is visited by three ghosts but instead of Scrooge, it's Matthew McConaughhey and instead of ghosts its ex girlfriends.
So you already know the story line, plus it's chick flick so you already know how it is going to end. There, now you don't have to watch it.

Shrink
A therapist living in Hollywood who's clientele are all famous stars struggles to come to terms with his wife's death. Using marijuana, booze and cigarettes to get by, one wonders how can he help others if he can't even help himself?
I did enjoy this dark drama, I love Kevin Spacey and his performance did not disappoint! It is a slow moving show with psychological meanings behind everything so this is not for those looking for action or a good time. It requires you to think and to feel and if you can do that, then you will enjoy the movie too.

Grey's Anatomy - Season 6
Spoiler Alert!
007 dies and Izzy doesn't? I thought for sure Izzy was going to be killed off the show. I used to like her a lot but she's kinda buggin me without George there. I miss George and his quirkiness. We'll see how the rest of the season pans out.
