Inception

Saw this one last weekend. At first I was a little iffy about it because it was a little confusing in the beginning but man, once the show actually got going it was amazing! A great action flick!

The Book of Eli

Hmmmm, I can't say if I like this film or not. Alex hated it. It was a little far fetched in the end and sort of a "Joseph Smithy" type of situation to it.

I get it, but it was pretty much shoved down my throat.

There is a lot of cool action scenes, and who doesn't like Denzel Washington? I'd say just wait for the DVD to see it.

1/4/10

Sherlock Holmes

I guess this show was good, or so my husband tells me. For some reason I didn't really follow the plot very well so by the end I was a little confused. If you watch it, make sure you pay attention!

But I got to watch Robert Downey Junior so it was worth it!

Angels and Demons

To the directors,

I read the book so of course I had to watch the movie and yes, you totally screwed with the plot. Can't someone just stick to the book when they make it into a movie? Seriously, I know you have to shorten it a ton, but actually changing the plot is not acceptable.

You're fired.

2012

Special affects were great, but the storyline was lacking.

10/19/09

Law Abiding Citizen

It's about a man who's wife and daughter are murdered and the killer was put on trial but a plea bargain sets him free so this man decides to take the law into his own hands.

It's one of those shows where you're not quite sure who is the good guy and who is the bad guy. It's a really good show with a smart plot and plenty of shocking moments, including one that made me pee a little. I loved it, however the ending was a touch on the cheesy side, but that's just me, my husband didn't think so.

Crank 2 High Voltage

I have nothing to say other than that this was the worst. movie. ever.

ever.

You don't want to see it, trust me.

Inglorious Basterds

I really liked this movie! Brad Pitt was hilarious. Of course I don't think the show is considered a comedy but it had a lot of funny parts. I love how Quentin Tarantino incorporates the flash backs when introducing characters. It was very well directed and even if you aren't a fan of Quenton's work, you will like this anyway.

It's just shocking and funny and witty and charming in a way. I loved it. I'd definitely see it again.

Take that Hitler!

District 9

This show was ca-razy! It starts out like a documentary of how this huge alien ship broke down and got stuck on earth 20 years ago. So the humans sort of quarantined these ugly aliens into their own area called district 9. Since the aliens had been on Earth for 20 years, the humans were used to the idea so in the movie, it was just normal to have the yucky things wandering around!

It took a while to get used to the look of the aliens because they were so gross looking but I found myself rooting for these guys by the end of the movie and felt sorry for them!

This movie isn't for everybody, in fact the theatre we went to was full of teenage geeky boys that kept yelling "That. Was. Awesome!" every time someone got blown up. So that was annoying, and it didn't help that the theatre smelled like BO!

It's very gory so I would definitely not let any child see this show! If you do go see it, you must go with an open mind to enjoy it.

Knowing

This is a thriller about a professor who comes across some predictions about the future and he sets out to stop these predictions from happening. The predictions come from a piece of paper that his son receives from a time capsule sealed 50 years ago at his school.

I liked the idea of the movie and thought it was really good up until the end. The end was horrible and unbelievable. I hate it when directors take a great idea that has potential and the poop on it!

7/15/09

Public Enemies

Alex and I saw this Monday night, the best night to watch an R rated movie because you know nobody is having family night there. I loved this movie! Lots of action for the guys and plenty of Johnny goodness for the girls!

Why, in an almost empty theatre, do people have to come sit RIGHT NEXT TO ME? Stepping on my purse in the process?

6/15/09

True Blood

So I've been reading Charlene Harris's vampire series and have been dying to watch the HBO series that was created from the books.

I think this is the first time ever that I like the movie/tv series better than the book! I wasn't sure I would like the girl who plays Sookie, the main character, but after watching the first few episodes I think she fits perfectly.

Y'all should watch it! And I say y'all cause they talk with an accent. My hubster was watching a little bit of it with me and said,

"Who would have thought of a hill billy vampire movie."

Hmm, who woulda thunk it!

5/26/09

Terminator Salvation

I wasn't expecting too much going into this show but I was surprised I really liked it. The plot wasn't really clear but that's not why you go see terminator right? You go for the action, and there was plenty of it!

I don't remember ever seeing any of the old Terminator movies so now I kinda wanna go back and watch them all to see if it helps this last one make sense!

5/8/09

Lakeview Terrace

Come on Samuel. First Snakes on a Plane and now this?

5/3/09

Wolverine

State Of Play

Good movie! It's about a reporter who tries to solve the mysterious death of a congressman's mistress. The congressman and the reporter are friends with a rocky history that complicates things during the investigation. Unexpected twists and a surprise ending sum the movie up nicely.

You'll like it.

4/21/09

Slumdog Millionaire

I loved this movie! It's about an illiterate slum kid from Mumbai who becomes a contestant on the local version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and just blows people away with what he knows.

The movie flashes back to this guys childhood and shows how he new some of the answers to the show's questions and also how he got on the show in the first place. It's a sweet movie with humor, heartbreak. Alex and I both loved it.

3/27/09

Kill Bill Vol. I

I attempted to watch this movie a few years ago when it first came out but I just wasn't expecting all the violence so I turned it off. It was on TV the other day so I thought I'd give it another shot.

I first learned about the two part movie when I took a film class in college a few years ago so I was always curious about it. The director, Quentin Tarantino, also wrote and directed Pulp Fiction so film critics were pretty excited about Kill Bill coming out.

Was it good? It was okay, a little too violent for me but I loved Lucy Lou and Uma Thurman fight scenes, they were awesome! Will I see the second one? Probably, if it shows on TV again.

The Hubster play Halo 3 online.

Anyone else's husband obsessed with Halo? Playing it any free time they can find with the little ear piece thingy glued to their ear so they can swear with their online buddies?

Thought so.

Heroes Season 2 on DVD
